Helpful links to help you make a Vaccine Appointment:

The FDA has approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 – 11. This means that all Chicagoans ages 5 and up are now eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

This is exciting news as we continue to prioritize the safety of our students and families.  Here’s how you can help keep your family safe and ensure a safe learning environment for our kids:

  • Get vaccinated. Vaccinating your child as soon as possible is the best way to ensure that they and their loved ones stay healthy. It reduces their risk of catching the virus and developing serious symptoms and reduces their risk of spreading the virus to others. Vaccines are safe, effective, widely available, and free of charge. Furthermore, vaccinated students who get exposed to current variants of COVID-19 but show no symptoms can avoid quarantining, which means they can stay in the classroom instead of being stuck at home.

To find a vaccine appointment near you:

  • Make an appointment at a CPS School-Based Health Center

  • Get tested. CPS has partnered with ThermoFisher to provide free, weekly COVID-19 testing to students and staff district-wide. The ReadyCheckGo™ Testing Program helps to slow the spread of the virus and aims to keep the virus out of our classrooms. Visit www.color.com/readycheckgo-cps to sign your student up for testing.

As always, our highest priority is the health and safety of our students and staff. Thank you for your continued support!
