Exploring Computer Science (ECS) is a yearlong, introductory course designed to engage students in computational thinking and practice. A focus of ECS is attracting students who might not think of themselves as “typical” candidates for computer science. It is my belief that all learners have a voice and are encouraged to make valuable contributions to learning in class. Our three pillars of the class our content, inquiry, and equity.
Seminar IV is a year-long class that focuses on writing growth, critical thinking, teamwork, organizational skills, and reading skills. We work specifically to increase college and career readiness, awareness of the possibilities, and exploration. We learn about the college application process and work to assist students with the financial wherewithal for a successful future.
