Welcome to Ms. Schack's Teacher Page!!
About Me
Hi everyone! My name is Ms. Schack and this will be my second year teaching at BOYCP! This school is so amazing and supportive and I feel lucky to be able to be your teacher! A little about me: I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, I graduated from Indiana University with a social studies secondary education degree. Teaching, and learning, about history are some of my favorite things to do because I believe it is so important to learn and listen to peoples’ stories. Past events shape our present every day, and we can make connections about the world we live in today. At BOYCP I teach freshmen world studies (honors and regular) as well as sophomore US history.
In addition to teaching I also coach soccer! I played soccer for fifteen years, mostly as a center back, and I have loved the opportunity to train young athletes. I am the sophomore boy’s team co-coach with Ms. Apfelbeck, and the JV girl’s team assistant coach with Mr. Espinoza.
Outside of teaching I love to run, bike, and travel (when it is safe to do so again!). I used to compete in cycling races, but not so much anymore and now just bike for fun. During quarantine, I decided to open up an Etsy shop making pillows! Other than that, I love to read, watch Netflix, spend time with friends and family, and attempt DIY projects!
