Liz Kelley

 

I have been teaching since 2006, in both Chicago and Lake Station, Indiana. Working at BOYCP since 2020, this is now the school where I have stayed the longest! This year, I will be teaching Personal & Professional Skills II to our IB CP seniors.

 

As an avid gardener and home cook, I try to grow as much of my own food as possible. Most summer days, you can find me outside in the garden, which now takes up the entire back and front yard at my house. My husband and I also keep chickens and 2 beehives. I love to travel, and even spent a semester abroad in Australia during college. I also frequently go back home to St. Louis, MO, where I grew up, to see my parents and my "little" (6-foot tall) sister.

I started teaching in 2006, at a small school called New Millennium which is now part of Bowen (in South Chicago).  I spent 4 years there before moving on to a year at Tilden, 4.5 years at Clemente, and 4.5 years at Thomas A Edison in Lake Station, Indiana.  This is my seventh year at BOYCP - the longest I've ever stayed at one school, because it's such a great school to work in!
