Liz Kelley

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year!

I am excited for my third year at BOYCP, and seventeenth year in education!  This year, I will be teaching Personal & Professional Skills to our IB CP seniors.

About Me

Ms. Kelley and chicken
As an avid gardener and home cook, I try to grow as much of my own food as possible.  Most summer days, you can find me outside in the garden, which now takes up the entire back and front yard at my house.  My husband and I also keep chickens and 2 beehives.  We are "helped" by our two shih tzus, named Athena and Maia.  I love to travel, and even spent a semester abroad in Australia during college.  This summer, we went to Alaska!  My parents still live in St. Louis, MO, where I grew up, along with my "little" (6-foot tall) sister.

Education and Professional Experience

B.S. in Cellular & Molecular Biology - University of Michigan
M.A. in Secondary Science Education - Teachers College, Columbia University

I started teaching in 2006, at a small school called New Millennium which is now part of Bowen (in South Chicago).  That's where I met Dr. Brekke, and I spent 4 years there before moving on to a year at Tilden, 4.5 years at Clemente, and 4.5 years at Thomas A Edison in Lake Station, Indiana.  This is my third year at BOYCP - can't wait to get started!
