TIPS:
1. Make sure to spell check and capitalize all proper nouns in your essay's. That means the word "i" and any names like "Back of the Yards," or "Covid." Also, capitalize the first word of every sentence. 

To run a spell check, highlight your text, click on "Tools" at the top of the doc, and then click "Spelling and Grammar."

2. Make sure you have periods at the end of your sentences and paragraphs. Read the essay out loud to yourself and when you take a natural breath, you should probably put a period there. When your writing goes to a new topic or subject, start a new paragraph.


3. To check the word count, highlight your text, click on "Tools" at the top of the doc, then click, "Word Count."


4. Try to make a connection with any lessons you've learned in your life and how you will use those lesson in college and in your future life.
