Fill in the questions about the article that you chose during your brainstorming activity.

Use the following fillable slide worksheet to brainstorm on a Social Justice issue of your choice. Then, find an article that we will further analyze on Thursday!

This topic should be one that you can later develop into a verse or two of a protest song next week!

Today we will begin filling out the following form about a protest song:

1. Choose a Song from one of the following lists:

2. Read the text/lyrics of your chosen song at least once.

3. Listen to the song at least twice, if there are multiple versions pick a few to listen to like we did yesterday together!

Hello Students! Today we are going to experiment with Soundtrap during class. Make a loop that includes a rhythm track, a bass track, an instrument track: piano, guitar, etc., and a vocals track. Lets do this by the end of class today- this is just a preliminary exercise to familiarize ourselves with some of the functions of Soundtrap software. Have fun and let me know if you have any difficulties with Soundtrap on your computers/devices!

Use the slides provided to help start your first draft of your concept album. The first draft is due January 22nd.
Remember, at this point you should have your outline done, have your cover art started in Canva, and now you have access to the slides.
Get as creative as you can on your slides with pictures, text, video, anything you can add to help tell your story.

Copy the Song Maker shapes that I share in class into your own composition! As always, the shapes must be IDENTICAL to mine, but the instruments and tempo are up to you.

In the Google Doc attached, please list your top 3 or top 5 apps based on your experiences using them. Be sure to provide evidence or proof that you tried them all.

Level 1 Rhythm Readers----Focus on drawing and copying Whole, Half. Quarter and 8th notes AND RESTS.
Level 2----Focus on creating at least 4 measures of music using combinations of notes and (try rests)
Level 3-------Focus on creating at least 8 measures of music using all notes and rests that you possibly can.

Send me 1 video providing EVIDENCE that you belong in your chosen level by clapping or playing 1 example from rhythmrandomizer.com. (Must be 4 or 8 measures in total)

You don't need to show your face in the video but I do need to see the rhythm you are performing so I can check it.
Check the MODEL video below to see what your video should include.

1. Watch the video and install Hippo Video Extension to your chrome extensions
2. Use Hippo Video to create your Juxtaposition project
3. Edit the video to cut out unwanted parts
4. Download the video using the down arrow
5. Rename the video to YOUR LAST NAME-JUXTAPOSITION.MP4
6. Upload that video to this Google Classroom assignment and mark it as turned in
