Forced perspective. Using IN CAMERA ONLY techniques play with perspective and scale.  You can useing Photopea, PS, LR to edit colors and sharpening and the overall aesthetic, but the perspective illusion is all done in camera (not compositing with photoea/ps).

Materials Under Stress Photographs
Prompt: Using intentional compositional strategies, directional lighting, and materials of your choosing-Create 3 photographic examples of a material under stress that elicit stress or tension for the viewer.

Tips
High quality = low pixelation = lots of light
To show the “stress” the object is under consider macro or a strong emphasis on a specific area of the object being in very strong focus
Be aware of your background, simple and clean is recommended so the viewer can focus on your object

Submit your final design as a png with a background color (your design was made for a certain color tshirt, so keep the background for now so we can best understand your final design).
Take care of all your spacing, your overall composition, watch the number of colors you are using, tell your story and keep it simple (stupid).

Instead of letting these feelings fester, and stay hidden I want to take this opportunity for you all to own your feelings and reclaim some power in your lives. After filling out the survey about your social/emotional/mental health I would like you to find a piece of those answers that resonates most with you and create a self portrait illustrating, encapsulating, expressing how you are right now. This self portrait could be about fears, concerns, stressors, politics, covid, health, family, relationships, it is all on the table for you to honestly reflect on.
The two rules for this assignment -
1-you must be in the final artwork
2-your face can be obscured in some way, partially or fully

You can just send a screenshot or a jpeg either or is fine.

In the chat...what ghost stories or myths/legends/ghost prevention stories have you ever heard. For example, one of the students brought up something they were told by their parents, if you have an empty chair in your room...ghosts will watch you while you sleep. So their parents told them to make sure any chairs in their bedroom had something on them.
You must make 1 initial post and then AT LEAST 2 comments, replies, maybe a different version of the same story, some sort of response longer than a 1 or 2 word response. Your name should pop up here at least 3 times total.

Where's your head at? What is going on? What are you thinking about? What are you fixated on? What are you feeling and what is going through your head? This is just an open free write for you to get off your mind and chest anything you need to or just rant about random things.
For the first 5 mins of class just free write. Try to star writing for the entire 5 mins

This is a google slide we will add to every project/unit. So we will keep resubmitting this slideshow and adding to it as the year progresses.

-Beginning - Probably going to need a black screen for the title
-Title should last about 4-6 seconds so everyone can read your word your name must be on the title slide in the bottom right corner

If you decide to play music, it should be instrumental (no words) because listening to words while reading words would be confusing. Also, keep the volume pretty low and more in background. Consider pairing the tempo of the music with the mood of the phrase, if your phrase is sad or more melancholy you should play more chill music if your phrase is more upbeat consider playing quicker more light music.

At the end of the period you will share your artifacts of your planning and preparation. What do you want to say? what is a phrase, a lesson, a piece of real life advice you think youd want to give to your younger self if you could talk to 12/13 year old you? What is a lesson you've had to learn the hard way that you feel like has stuck with you? For this project phrases of 6-10 words tend to be best. Anymore and it becomes too much work and less and its too quick/simple.

Using your sketchbook if you want to handwrite, draw, doodle, or you can create a google doc for virtual notes-
Read the attached article and do the following in your notes-

1-Find 2 quotes or statements from the article to respond to. You can agree, disagree, you can keep going with that thought, somehow the thought has resonated or struck a chord with you...explain.
2-Which image from the article did you like the best and explain a little why? If doing a sketchbook just describe it. If doing this digitally, copy and paste into the doc and write below it.
3-Choose 1 mundane thing in your life, your space, your existence, your day. What is a thing you do all the time and never really think about? Describe that mundane act, space, object, routine in excruciating detail. Like the most over the top descriptive narrative of a completely mundane act.

Your task/challenge/theme- Less Is More or Less Is Better. Which ever way you want to think of it. Using your photographic skills, limited time and surroundings your task is to take beautiful images with simplification in mind. What is the most response, most beauty and most engagement you can get from a photo of not much. Consider light as a driving factor in your photographs.

Using my slides as a "loose" template...Create your own slideshow using images you've taken, drawings you've made, things you've done. This will not be shared with anyone but me so be as open, honest and personal as you feel comfortable

Using drawings, doodles, words, phrases, lines, etc...take a mindscape of your notes and responses to this video. You task should be to be present with the video and yourself and track your thoughts as the video is playing. quick sketches of things you see, quotes or phrases of things you hear that resonate with you, thoughts that linger and are tangental to the stimuli from the video. You should be able to fill up a good amount of space on your page in the 7 mins of this video. Dont think of this as cornell notes, or even school notes, think of this as an illustrated unleashing of your thoughts on a page. When you are done you will photograph your sketchbook and submit it here.
