Description
and writing experience, this class is for you! I have two main goals for the course: We will learn, share, and practice skills for self-expression and communication. Specifically, we will… Hone craft, style, and mechanics in various genres of writing Develop shared critical vocabulary for producing and analyzing creative writing Read texts from a writer’s point of view Develop flexible strategies for creating, revising, and editing writing in a variety of genres Develop strategies for self-assessment and reflection on the process of writing Participate actively in a community of writers We will explore what it means to live fully, joyfully, and wholly. Together, we will work to develop our own unique writing voices. Writing is an incredible tool to express our experiences, emotions, and ideas, and we will learn how to write in many different genres by examining example texts. I am committed to selecting texts that show a range of perspectives, focusing on non-dominant narratives that show the complexity of human life, but you will also be responsible for finding and choosing texts that speak to you. This course will be shaped in large part by the topics you want to explore through these texts, and we will co-construct knowledge together as we read, write, and discuss.
