Welcome to Back of the Yards College Preparatory High School

 

We are so excited that you are interested in becoming a Bobcat. Please begin by reviewing our Application Process, and completing an application through GoCPS.

 

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING TRANSFER APPLICATIONS AT THIS TIME.

We are a 100% application-based school. All interested 8th graders, including students who live near our school, must submit a GoCPS application. 

 

 

Within GoCPS, there are 3 routes for admission to Back of the Yards College Prep:

  • International Baccaulaureate
  • Dual Language (instruction in Spanish & English) - requires Spanish proficiency!
  • General Education
 
You can apply for 1, 2 or all 3 of our programs. Whichever offer you accept is the program you will be enrolled in. This is especially important to know for Dual Language, where 3 classes (science, math, and social science) are taught entirely in Spanish. Students are advised not to apply for that program if they are not able to learn in Spanish. Once a seat is accepted in Dual Language, a student must participate in the program.
