At Back of the Yards College Prep, we are proud to be a leading force in the global bilingual movement through our robust bilingual and dual-language academic programming. BOYCP consistently ranks among the top schools for the highest number of students earning the prestigious Seal of Biliteracy, and this week, our seniors took a major step toward that goal by launching their final testing sessions. Earning this seal is a significant achievement that certifies high-level proficiency in two languages—a distinction that is proudly displayed on their diplomas and can grant them both college credit and admission into advanced university language courses. We are incredibly confident in our students' success, as they are supported by the deep academic and cultural foundations we have built together as a community.
Just as we celebrate the mastery of multiple languages, we are equally committed to helping our Bobcats find their unique voices in the professional world through our upcoming college and career events. We are excited to announce two days dedicated entirely to our students’ futures! On Thursday, March 12th, students will follow an alternative schedule to prioritize post-secondary planning and attend our on-site College Fair. This shift in the school day allows every student the dedicated time and space to meet with recruiters and explore various paths after graduation. The momentum continues on Friday, March 13th, with our annual Career Day, where students will have the unique opportunity to hear directly from professionals across a wide range of industries.
These experiences are more than just a break from the standard routine; they are vital opportunities for students to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world. By engaging with college representatives and career speakers, our Bobcats can envision their future selves, discover new passions, and gain the networking skills necessary for long-term success. We encourage you to talk with your students about what they learn during these two days as they take these important steps toward their professional lives. It is always a Great Day to be a Bobcat!

En Back of the Yards College Prep, nos enorgullece ser una fuerza líder en el movimiento bilingüe global gracias a nuestro sólido programa académico bilingüe y en dos idiomas. BOYCP se encuentra constantemente entre las mejores escuelas con el mayor número de estudiantes que obtienen el prestigioso Sello de Alfabetización Bilingüe, y esta semana, nuestros estudiantes de último año dieron un gran paso hacia ese objetivo al comenzar sus sesiones finales de exámenes. Obtener este sello es un logro significativo que certifica un alto nivel de competencia en dos idiomas, una distinción que se muestra con orgullo en sus diplomas y que les puede otorgar créditos universitarios y la admisión en cursos avanzados de idiomas en la universidad. Tenemos una gran confianza en el éxito de nuestros alumnos, ya que cuentan con el apoyo de los sólidos cimientos académicos y culturales que hemos construido juntos como comunidad.
Al igual que celebramos el dominio de varios idiomas, estamos igualmente comprometidos a ayudar a nuestros Bobcats a encontrar su voz única en el mundo profesional a través de nuestros próximos eventos universitarios y profesionales. ¡Nos complace anunciar dos días dedicados por completo al futuro de nuestros estudiantes! El jueves 12 de marzo, los estudiantes seguirán un horario alternativo para dar prioridad a la planificación postsecundaria y asistir a nuestra Feria Universitaria presencial. Este cambio en la jornada escolar permite a cada estudiante disponer de tiempo y espacio dedicados para reunirse con los reclutadores y explorar diversas trayectorias tras la graduación. El impulso continúa el viernes 13 de marzo con nuestro Día de las Profesiones anual, en el que los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad única de escuchar directamente a profesionales de una amplia gama de sectores.
Estas experiencias son más que un simple descanso de la rutina habitual; son oportunidades vitales para que los estudiantes acorten la distancia entre el aula y el mundo real. Al interactuar con representantes universitarios y ponentes profesionales, nuestros Bobcats pueden imaginar su futuro, descubrir nuevas pasiones y adquirir las habilidades sociales necesarias para el éxito a largo plazo. Les animamos a que hablen con sus alumnos sobre lo que aprenden durante estos dos días, ya que están dando pasos importantes hacia su vida profesional. ¡Siempre es un gran día para ser un Bobcat!
