Introducing Chicago Scholars Virtual (CSV)
Not every student thrives in the same type of program, which is why Chicago Scholars offers Chicago Scholars Virtual (CSV), a flexible, virtual pathway that provides students with access to the Chicago Scholars experience while accommodating busy schedules and competing commitments. CSV is based on the same core pillars as our traditional program, including college readiness, college success, and career and leadership development, but is delivered primarily through the REACH Pathways (app.reachpathways.com) platform in an asynchronous format.
Who is a good fit for CSV?
Chicago Scholars Virtual may be an excellent fit for students who:
- Balance significant responsibilities outside of school, including work, athletics, arts, caregiving, or other extracurricular commitments.
- Need greater flexibility in how and when they engage with programming.
- Are self-motivated, independent learners who can manage deadlines and complete activities on their own schedule.
- Want access to the resources, opportunities, and network of Chicago Scholars but may find it difficult to consistently attend in-person programming.
While CSV is different from our traditional Chicago Scholars Classic model, which includes dedicated college counselors and mentors, it provides a meaningful and accessible pathway for students who would benefit from a more flexible approach while still receiving support and guidance throughout their college journey.
