For today, you'll be focusing on honing in the grammar skill (appositives) we introduced and practiced last week (Quizizz) and the optional, extra credit extra practice activities in links (Google Doc).
You'll also continue exploring the big ideas for this unit through a short writing activity (Google Form)

We started talking about our unit essay. We dissected the prompt (see photo), came up with a class theme for the Olivarez poem (see the Jamboard), and started to look for text evidence to support the theme (see Jamboard and another photo for directions).

1. Complete the essay writing preflection

a. read the class theme
b. go to page 2 of Jamboard, read directions, and add 1-2 annotations (see Jamboard for directions)

You need a total of 3 Tool-Verb-Reasons; each TVR needs a quote + MLA citation (Shakur line #), tool, verb (see the list!), and a reason in which you analyze the effect of the literary device (why is the LD there? What does it mean? What's the main idea of the LD?)
