Answer the following questions to help you review for your unit test.

Please close read the article by annotating it. Then answer the questions at the end to the best of your ability.

For each of the scenarios below, determine whether the type of unemployment is frictional, seasonal, structural, or cyclical.

2. Plot the data, making sure to label the years along the x - axis.

To prepare for your test, answer the following questions.

Follow the directions exactly as written (they are the same as Parts III and IV from Creating the Supply Curve).

Use the points I gave you in the comments to create your demand curve. The points are (x1, y1) and (x2, y2).

Follow the step by step directions to create the supply curve for an item from your food truck.

Make sure your complete ALL FIVE parts.

For each scenario, demonstrate how the demand curve (D1) will shift. Label this shift D2. State the cause.

For each problem, indicate which of the seven causes of shifts in supply is being evidenced. Then draw a new supply curve

As you read through the article, highlight important phrases and make comments on things that you wonder about.

After discussing with your partner, answer the following questions:

What are your thoughts?
What examples does the article state for why the supply and demand for a college has changed?
How has this change in supply and demand affected the cost?

We have been appointed by the National Economic Advisory Committee (NEAC) to determine what is the best type of economic system. You are very knowledgeable about the four types of economic systems: traditional, command, market, and mixed. Each member of the team will be researching two different countries with two different types of economic systems. Each member will compile a report documenting life in that country and determining which economic system is better.

In order to successfully complete this project, you must do the following:

1. Complete the “Comparing Economies” handout to research the status of your assigned countries using the Human Development Index by UN

2. Research the two countries economic systems and give an overview of each.

3. Write a report comparing the two countries and determining whether the type of economy affects the standards of living for each country. Things you should consider in your report:
• Which country has a higher standard of living?
• When answering this question, consider life expectancy, child malnutrition, mortality rates, years of schooling, the literacy rate, the survival rate to finishing school and the suicide rate
• Which country has a more robust economy?
• When answering this question, consider the Gross National Income, the Gross Domestic Product, the employment ratio, child labor, the unemployment rate, exports and imports, foreign direct investment, net official development assistance received, and skilled labor force
• Which country is safer?
• When answering this question, consider the homicide rate, the prison population, population using improved drinking water sources, population using improved sanitation facilities
• Which country would you prefer to live in?
• When answering this question, you are welcome to consider other factors outside your research, such as weather in the location or other areas of interest

4. Based on your research, make a recommendation of which economic system you believe is a better choice
• When answering this question, please consider all of the above factors plus any other factors that you think may be pertinent

Your report should use correct citations as done in your other classes.

Take a few minutes to read through the article. Then respond to the reflection questions on page 2.

Write a paragraph summarizing what you saw in the video. Make sure to include:
- examples of how North Korea is a Command Economy
- how people's lives are impacted by the governments control over the economy
- how people feel about their government
- your feelings about what you observed

Read through the article about Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein. Once you have completed the reading, reflect on what you have read. What type of economic system do you believe is being exhibited in this article? Support your answer by including three citations from the article.

After constant complaints about the quality of the food in the cafeteria, Dr. Brekke has agreed to hear proposals about allowing a student – run food truck to be available during lunch periods. You are going to be creating a proposal to start a food truck serving food of your choosing.

Your proposal must include the following:
• A description of what kind of food truck you will be offering and why you selected that food truck
• A logo design for your food truck
• A menu for your food truck
• An advertisement for the Maroon
• A thorough explanation for why Dr. Brekke should select your food truck to be the only food truck available to students to purchase lunch
• A list of some of the factors of production that your food truck will require
• A list of opportunity costs that the school will be giving up to start this food truck
• The school has budgeted $5,000 to get the business up and running. What at least three examples of other things they could fund instead of a food truck for the students?

Answer each of the questions.
