I teach AP Computer Science Principles and the new course Honors Engineering Design II in the IB Engineering Career Programme. I also mentor the Bobcats Robotics, Dream Pursuers, and Girls Who Code clubs. Please email me if you are interested in joining any of these clubs, if you'd like support on an independent coding or engineering project, or if you have questions or ideas to share about these topics or anything else!
Most of my computer science experience comes from my Ph.D. in Experimental High Energy Nuclear Physics with the CMS Collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider, and I earned my M.Ed. in Secondary Science Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2015. I first came to Back of the Yards High School as an observer and volunteer the year the school opened in 2013, student taught here the following year, and I've been growing as a teacher with the school ever since.
I am also a proud resident of Back of the Yards since 2011, and I enjoy being involved in the community and feel grateful and privileged that I get to both live and teach here.
