Colin Rook, Case Manager
My path to being a teacher started when I was a high school student in Naperville. I had always enjoyed working with youth but a nudge from my junior PE teacher sparked my interest in teaching. Combined with some amazing experiences with Special Olympics, I soon found a serious passion for Special Education.
I studied at Eastern Illinois University while continuing a soccer career that consumed much of my childhood. After earning my degree, I was eager to move to Chicago and begin working as a teacher. In 2015, I started at BOYCP and began my work as Case Manager in 2017.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and friends! We love going to street festivals, concerts, and trying new restaurants. On weekends, I am usually watching/playing soccer and this summer I started golfing with my dad! At home, I've got two Bengal cats that demand A LOT of attention and pets.
Over my 5+ years I have grown to love Back of the Yards and the surrounding communities we serve. I have met so many amazing families and worked with brilliant educators. I appreciate families that always support teachers and teachers that always support students. Those values match my commitment to providing each student individually appropriate instruction.
